The Stump Watch Began 10 Years Ago

On February 23 1999 in the last year of the Milena the watch began. There were no expectations but it was clear that no matter what how this site changed would be of some interest over time. Forestry is a contentious issue in Tasmania and emotion often replaces logic in regard to how places like this one are understood. It is well out of the way and few people visit it.

To mark the clear fell on stump was painted RED simply to allow for the same place to be found over time and as Placemarker. 10 years on there are a range of options for visiting this site that were not there in 1999.
